brancha marketing review
Not sure why your marketing isn’t delivering?
The Brancha Marketing Review gives leadership an independent view of where marketing may be getting stuck and the factors that appear to be contributing to it.
Before you change the team, increase the budget or invest in something new, understand where the problem might be
a focused one-week review
When marketing isn’t delivering as expected, it’s easy to assume the answer is more activity, different people or more investment.
But the visible problem isn’t always the real one.
A product launch that failed to gain traction might look like an execution problem. Look closer and there may have been no clear go-to-market approach, a limited launch budget, weak supporting content or an over-reliance on a small number of channels.
The Brancha Marketing Review looks across the business and marketing function to highlight where those disconnects appear to exist.
Business and marketing need to be pulling in the same direction
what brancha looks at
Before looking at individual marketing activity, the Review considers the conditions marketing is operating within.
01
Direction
Is it clear what the business needs marketing to achieve?
Investment
Are the budget and resources available to marketing broadly compatible with what’s expected of it?
02
Alignment
Do leadership and marketing share the same understanding of priorities and what success should look like?
03
Where does marketing need attention?
the marketing foundations
The Review then looks across eight foundations of the marketing function, highlighting where things appear to be working and where there may be gaps or disconnects.
Is it clear who the business needs to reach, what matters to those audiences and how the company communicates its value?
Does the team have the direction, capability and support needed to deliver what’s expected of it?
Are the brand and website supporting what the business is trying to achieve, or are there obvious disconnects?
Is marketing activity connected to customer needs and commercial priorities, with the right channels being used to reach them?
Are conferences, PR, partnerships and other external activities being chosen deliberately and supported appropriately?
Are the right systems and ways of working in place to help marketing plan, prioritise, deliver and measure effectively?
Is external expertise being used where it’s needed, and are there obvious gaps, overlaps or dependencies?
Can leadership see what marketing is doing, why it matters and whether meaningful progress is being made?

what you get
The report explains what Brancha has observed, the evidence behind it and why it matters to the business. You’ll also have a leadership readout to talk through the findings, ask questions and understand which areas deserve the most attention.
At the end of the week, you’ll receive a concise Marketing Review highlighting the areas that appear to need attention and each area is assessed using a simple status.
It tells you where to look. Not what the answer is
what the review doesn’t do
The Marketing Review is deliberately focused.
It doesn’t include detailed customer or market research, sales pipeline analysis, positioning development, go-to-market strategy, budget planning or an implementation roadmap.
Those questions require deeper investigation.
If the Review identifies significant or interconnected issues, the Brancha Assessment goes further to understand why they’re happening, determine what needs to change and build the strategic roadmap to address them.
You don’t need to know what’s wrong before you talk to Brancha
a different way to start
You may have concerns about marketing but not be ready for a full Assessment. Or you may simply want an independent senior view before making a bigger decision.
